Dear Mr Ascher
I must apologise for not writing sooner to thank you for your letter & suggestion which I much appreciate and had it been possible I should have been very glad to have made a design.
I am, however unfortunately unable to do so as I have been troubled with my eyes and am obliged to limit the amount of work I can at present undertake.
I greatly admire the two squares you have so kindly sent me and say I may keep which I do so with the deepest pleasure hoping it may prove an earnest of things to come.
I hope later that I may have the opportunity of meeting you and if I may will let you know when next I am in London.
With kind regards Yours sincerely Frances Hodgkins
