My Dear Luce
I moved into this Studio on Sat: and so am now back in my old slum – where I belong.
When I have calmed down & get used to the place I hope to get to work, but I wonder if I shall ever be in the right mood again to paint.
London is a terrible place for artists. I feel confused by the noise & humanity. Where can one find peace & happy inspiration.
I hope Paul is alright & none the worse and that you are doing jolly things – in jolly clothes – with jolly people.
I am sorry I said naughty things to you – as I did – but I felt badly you were not being fair to me – though you meant so kindly. I was deeply hurt & tried to tell you so. I expect you feel as sore as I do. Forgive me. Frances
