No time to write this at Oxford – bus met me at station & I got quickly to Burford with my 9 packages – have voted – played with the kitten & am now going to light the stove. Had carriage to myself & only paid 4/8 excess on all that glass wh was carried tenderly & I feel certain is intact. Miss R was a brick & the greatest comfort in getting me off. I was fair smothered in parcels no sign of Mr Gibson. The kitten is a joy & grown big with a fine ruff. I miss you badly & will feel horribly lonely without you & the mincer & the cosy flat but I am full of hope & thoughts of work for the future. I must unpack glass tomorrow & know the worst. Thanks for everything. Will write tomorrow. F H
