Dear Miss Hodgkins
I have never replied to your letter yet but have had all the works here down stairs & though Miss Winthrop did not call her niece did & expected to meet her aunt here but was prevented.
I showed all the pictures to her & she was very appreciative & regretted Miss Winthrop did not turn up. Mr Nowley has not been yet perhaps he will not come now till next week. I am continually talking about you & your work to many people. That Lady for whom I was enquiring about colours from you some time ago is wild with admiration. She had one of the Venetian pictures at her Studio for some time, showing it to her friends, & today she brought three people here to see all I have (a Lady Corbet & two gentlemen), they can’t understand those who are continually buying pictures pass such works by.
They wished me to tell you how much they appreciated them. One of them said they should come & see them again.
I am glad you like Beer. It must be an old world [?] Mr C.W. Bartlett lives there & the frames you refer I expect are his.
There is a fine collection of pictures at Franco-British which you ought to see if you are in Town in time. It closes next Saturday. Yours sincerely H.W. Taylor
