My dear Mrs Field
I was so sorry to read of Fanny’s death in Saturday’s paper. I always hoped we might meet again; I was so fond of her & she was so amusing. I wonder if she was still living at Corfe Castle. Gertrude Fitchett told me some time ago that some of her paintings were to be shown in N.Z. I hope that is true & that they will still be sent.
My eldest daughter Betty Unwin was in Wellington lately & rang you several times but concluded you were out of town. If I ever come up to stay with Daisy Elmslie (which she is always asking me to do) I shall come & see you. Again, I must say how sorry I am & with love
Yours affect. Ethel A Cossins (McLaren)
