Saturday evening
Dear Miss Hodgkins
I enclose a cheque for ten guineas – being such a pauper I have no right to buy any luxury & I ought to be feeling that : but my only feeling is surprise that I can buy anything that will give me happiness the sunset one does & will in possessing. Your sketches have been a revelation to me & I shall just long to see the finished pictures.
My address is Stopham Pulborough Sussex
& if you decide to have your Show in London & would let me have a card to say when & where, it would be very good of you.
Yours sincerely Lily Parsons.
