My dearest Willie
At last a letter from you. So glad to get it & hear all is well – acquisition of Angus real good news – it makes a difference doesn’t it? I have been very thrilled & excited receiving 2 parcels, close together through the Bank – the 3rd you mention has somehow eluded me – but it may yet turn up – in time for Christmas.
It is wonderful to get the food I need – it is a little Godsend and indeed I am in clover. It is frightfully dear & kind of you both to think of me thank you so much. Both parcels arrived in perfect condition – minus stamps of course. In future post direct here. The only event likely to change my plans is invasion---------.
I am now living next door to Studio in Courtyard & furnished 2 small rooms, one up – one down – bedroom & kitchenette – also an air raid shelter walls 1 yd thick – prehistoric masonry. I have made it quite snug & cosy, electric light & cooker – not exactly labour saving but I like it as a war time measure. It is close to my work – which is a good job. Terrible news from Japan just come. I feel too agitated to write more – will break off & write more later. In much stress of mind. Yrs lovingly Frances
