My Dear Geoff
I got your 2 cards today & feel much happier about you in consequence – tho’ they tell mighty little it is a comfort to see the handwriting. Afraid you are having foul weather. Do hope you are still behind the lines & not up to the eyes in Flanders mud in the trenches. Sent you off a currant loaf wh I hope you got. No news. Awful crowd of trippers about. I went yesterday to Penzance, 2 hours there 2 hours back, 2 hours at the Dentist – a thoroughly pleasant day. Travelling is to be avoided in August – trains are packed & very few & far between. Miss Williams leaves tomorrow. A letter today from Granny, who at last sends me your number, all wrong, don’t say I said so tho! This is just to say I am thinking of you & wishing you luck. Write a line when you can. Much love from your Aunt, dear Geoff.
