[Fragment]
Tell her also that Annie has not got a place yet and the last I heard of her was that she was suffering agonies with her teeth. Mary is really a very nice girl and most reliable. She has undertaken Geo. Baine’s spiritual salvation and where once he got cold victuals he now goes home with tracts. Poor little Freddie is failing fast, tell Mother I give him soup every day and look after him.
Mrs McLaren came up to see me yesterday and tell Mother she specially asked after her.
Well dear old girl I must say goodbye for the present. Give my love to dear old Mother and tell her not to worry or even think of coming home for ages yet. I am sending Will a card in the hopes it will raise a smile. How is he give him my love and tell him I would give a good deal for a sight of him exterminating slugs by candle light. This is the time of year when they are at their best isn’t it? With much love to your dear old self, ever your loving sister Fanny
