Brief Description
n The Edwardians, Edward Skinner and his wife, Edith, who was a regular contributor of poetry to the local paper, are featured in their home, Salubrious House, in Salubrious Place in the company of their maid, Elsa. Skinner, who was a good linguist and was keenly interested in music and literature, was well-liked amongst the artistic community for his kindly disposition. He organised in 1917-19, the allotments tended by Arts Club members to alleviate local food shortages. He was first President of the St Ives Literary Society established in 1919.
