Brief Description
The architecture illustrated in this very rapid sketch suggests it may have been done while Hodgkins was in Chioggia, during her stay in Venice in 1906. Her attention to the solid base below the rch on the right hand side of the compition is quite particular (the slightly squat Romanesque arches are similar to those found in Canale Vena and Canale Vescova, for example, in Chioggia.
